The New World of Ethical Fashion

Once held in low regard by the fashion world, sustainability and ethical production has recently risen to the forefront with consumers asking "who made my clothes?"

The Fashion industry is one of the largest responsible for unfriendly chemicals and working conditions, affecting thousands around the globe.

Consumers today are looking for brands who support sustainable and ethical practices. Influenced by the top end fashion houses and designers such as Vivienne Westwood, who follow this movement so strongly and innovatively within their collections, thus creating a ripple effect; inspiring others to think more ethically within their own production.

One of our favourite in-store brands, Mini Rodini, has the vision of creating fun, quality clothes for children without compromising social responsibility and environmental factors during production.

The Mini Rodini swimsuits are GRS certified which ensures recycled material usage  including soda bottles, discarded fishnets and used clothes. Since they are making clothing worn by children, the control of chemical use is of the utmost importance to us at Soul.  GRS is the strictest certification for recycled material on the market today and includes rigid controls of chemicals and working conditions.

Levi's is another brand we all know and love, that is known for it's sustainable production across their denim range. A recent accomplishment from Levi's is the Project FLX, which is a new digitizing technique that uses lasers to ethically create designs on it's jeans in place of manual labor.

From kidswear to denim, we also supply ethical footwear from the Woden. This is a Scandinavian brand who strive to achieve the green footprint across each shoe. They are inspired by nature and stick to the 3 R's - REDUCE. REUSE. RECYCLE. Each sneaker is made of natural materials and carefully designed with thought.

At Soul Clothing we are constantly looking for new brands that are making the change towards sustainable practice.

We are 100% behind this movement and hope you are too.
